PREP Classes at St. John Cantius
The Parish Religious Education Program (PREP) provides a way for our Catechists to partner with parents and help them effectively share faith with their children. The Program presents lessons on the doctrines and teachings of the Catholic Church and provides meaningful opportunities for making faith come alive at home.
PREP Year
PREP Classes are normally held on Thursdays from 6:00 pm to 7:15 pm and run from September to May.

PREP - The religious education program for Catholic students not attending a Catholic elementary school.
We are happy to assist you, the parents and guardians who are the first teachers of your children in the ways of faith.
The P.R.E.P. program at St. John Cantius Parish is committed to the religious education of our children in order that they might reach their full potential and become effective witnesses to the Gospel and God's love for the world. The primary means by which this is accomplished is thorough catechesis.
“Catechesis describes the essential ministry of the (Catholic) Church through which the teachings of Christ have been passed on to believers throughout the ages…Catechesis is an education in the faith of children, young people, and adults which includes the teaching of Christian doctrine” of the Roman Catholic Church. (National Directory for Catechesis, no.1, United States Conference of Catholic Bishops).
We look upon each child as created in the image and likeness of God, and encourage our children to share the love of Jesus by reflecting his glory in their daily lives. Students live and experience their faith through sound catechesis, worship, works of mercy, and fellowship.
In the words of St John Paul II, “The definitive aim of catechesis is to put people not only in touch but in communion, in intimacy, with Jesus Christ: only He can lead us to the love of the Father in the Spirit and make us share in the life of the Holy Trinity.”

$75.00 for 1 child
$125 for 2 children from the same household
$+30 for each additional child over 2
Registration after August 1, and before September 22.
NO REGISTRATIONS ACCEPTED ON OPENING NIGHT

$150 for 2 children from the same household
$+50.00 for each additional child over 2
