Ceremony of Carols
Sunday, December 16, 2018 at 7:00 PM — Come join our PREP students and their teachers as they present our parish’s traditional Nativity tableau in St. John Cantius Church. Members of our choirs will lead everyone in singing their favorite Christmas carols during the presentation. At the end of the evening, we will welcome everyone to come and bring their Giving Tree gifts to the front of the Church.
What is the Giving Tree?
Beginning the first week of Advent on Saturday, December 1, Giving Trees will be placed in Church in front of the Sacred Heart and Blessed Mother altars. Each Christmas tree will have paper ornaments with a child’s age and wish list item for Christmas (clothing, winter gear, a board game, etc). Parishioners are asked to take an ornament, purchase the gift for the child, wrap the gift, and attach the paper ornament to the gift. As we did last year, we will be helping the Children at St. Edmond’s Home for Children in Rosemont, PA and the Indian Mission School in Montana. Your generosity in the past years has been outstanding, and the children (and adults who serve them) are most grateful. The gifts are sent or delivered on December 17, so please bring gifts to the Rectory before the 16th if you cannot make the event. Thank you for sharing the Christmas spirit in this wonderful way! Please call the Rectory with any questions – 215-535-6667.
